HBO Scraps Stallone’s 2Pac/Biggie Film

Actor Sylvester Stallone says his film “Notorious” – a biopic he was developing based on the murders of Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G. – has stalled and may have been permanently shelved by HBO.

“I became involved in the Tupac/Biggie project about four years ago,” said Stallone, who planned on directing and acting in the cable TV movie.

“Gathering all the data, these two giant rap stars were murdered in front of numerous witnesses and no arrests have ever been made. This, on the surface, said to me some very important people had to be involved. Police chiefs?”

Stallone was to portray a police officer who gets blackballed after exposing dirty cops’ involvement in the homicides.

“The story was like a modern-day noir written from the point-of-view of a Detective [Russell] Poole, who basically was railroaded out of the police department because the more he investigated, the dirtier the high rollers in city hall and police commissions and DA offices all appeared to be part of a conspiracy to squash this case.”

“I don’t think it’ll ever be done because of the amount of lawsuits that would be filed.

50 Cent Adds Some Soul to Upcoming LP

50 Cent is changing gears on his upcoming album, “Before I Self Destruct,” and according to the G-Unit rapper, he is adding some old soul to his typically hardcore sound

“I want the music to sound like something I haven’t done before,” 50 Cent recently told Teen Music, “so I needed to change the guys I worked with on the last project.”

“On my last album I stuck with what people have expected from me already, but now I feel more comfortable to do something else.”

“I’ve been listening to a lot of Motown stuff – Smokey Robinson – a lot of older music, so I got a lot of soulful loops … I took material from some old, old records and recreated them.”

“Before I Self Destruct” currently has no release date.

Meanwhile 50 Cent can be heard on Eminem’s latest mixtape, “The Re-Up,” which hits streets on Dec. 5.

Personally, I think to many people are once again misreading things and just assuming. And you know what happens when you assume don’t you, you make an ASS out of You. So this track (which by the way features Willie D of the Geto Boys) is more of a big “Fuck You” to the haters rather than a slap to The East as some have mistaken it to be. Yeah you got an not to happy Pimp C venting his frustrations in the beginning saying

Well damn now we got to be force to segregate the beauty of Hip-Hop because of the unnecessary hatred. I like what Bun B say’s and mark it as true

That’s some TRILL as shit right there people. Truth be told in my years of living down here I’ve also saw the love people had for all forms of Hip-Hop East and West. Like it’s been said many times the red carpet has always been rolled out for whoever long as they did their thing. So why isn’t the love returned? I’ve noticed something about the East not to disrespect but there is a well of jealousy that’s always been there. Rather it be between each other, or as when the West started to rise the hate thrown there, now The South. I’m not going to sit here and y to convince you The South has dope MC because it’s in one ear out the other. I’m just saying this potential War is foolish.

Didn’t we learn our lessons after Big and Pac passed, no worse didn’t we learn our lessons as a people during the Civil Rights Movement. We’ve come to far to shit on everything Martin, Malcolm, Huey P, etc stood for to let it all die over something as silly as this. Were all brothers and sisters in love with this art-form, of course it won’t be expressed the same way as others do because of the fact it’s ART! And the expression/interpretation of it is in the eye of the beholder.

How can you hate the next man for feeling compelled to express himself? You don’t here any bickering about where Blues or Rock-N-Roll started. Why is it necessary to hate on the next dude for doing them. Sure people our just going to come in here on some “Fuck The South” or “Fuck The East” B.S. But why can’t we just be on some love Hip-Hop shit. You got dudes in the ATL taking Nas comments all wrong cause their frustrated with the lack of respect from others. You got dudes from N.Y. shitting on the South becase
not appealing to what the public is craving right now.

You want a war people, then war with the Fans. War with yourselves for not being creative and strapping Hip-Hop in a stagnant vibe. The Fans are feeling the Snap b.s. because it’s different from the norm. I’m not saying well okay East go snap (or do the Chicken Noodle Soup). I’m saying take back your beloved Hip-Hop by making some great Hip-Hop music. Warring with each other won’t solve shit, it only adds to the problem. Were pushing ourselves back hundreds of years with the stupid hate.

Look when Andre 3000 accepted the award at The Source awards in the midst of the East vs West mess he said “The South has something to say.” Of course it’s not the same thing or way everyone else is saying it but how can you take away the right to say it? The so-called War is BULLSHIT! instead of dividing ourselves we need to unite and keep this thing moving. So Quit Hating The South, East, West And Midwest and LOVE HIP-HOP!!!

Mos Def Checking in for Fourth Quarter?

'Tru3 Magic' reportedly drops in December, though the album was already moved from its' original date of September 19 and has received little to no visible promotion. Mos Def AKA Dante Smith has been busy acting, but over the last few months has managed to release "The Undeniable" and "Sun, Moon, & The Stars." Titles such as "There Is A Way" , "The Magical Booty", "Chewy Booty Bounce" and "Boogie Man Theme Music" are reportedly confirmed to appear on 'Tru3 Magic.' Mos Def reportedly lays his varied vocal styles over tracks by The Neptunes, Rich Harrison, 9th Wonder, 88 Keys, Minnesota, Kanye West, and RJD2

Within the past year Mos Def has appeared in the films '16 Blocks,' 'Talladega Nights,' 'Bobby,' 'Dream Girls (December 25)', and 'Dave Chappelle's Block Party.' He was arrested August 31 at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards for performing "Katrina Clap," his scathing critique of the Bush Administration’s unresponsiveness in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, outside without a permit. NYPD officers reportedly were shown the permit by members of the emcee's camp and allowed the show to continue until another group of officers insisted the performance end. Hip-Hop Tops Charts After Slow Year

After a relatively slow year for album sales, hip-hop is making a last quarter appearance on the charts

According to Nielsen SoundScan, the Game's sophomore album, "Doctor's Advocate," topped this week's charts pushing 358,000 units. Compare that to his 2005 debut, "The Documentary," which sold 587,000 in its first week

Meanwhile Akon's "Konvicted" came in at No. 2, selling 284,000 copies. His singles "I Wanna Love You" and "Smack That," featuring Snoop Dogg and Eminem respectively, both peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100

Jay-Z's latest LP, "Kingdom Come," which hit stores a few days ago, is expected to top next week's charts with an estimated 850,000 units

If the predictions are accurate, "Kingdom Come" may see the highest first-week sales for 2006
